i'm all mixed up inside

today was the longest day of my recent life. i can't believe i was actually in class today, which by the way, was amazing.

we "performed" 4:33 by John Cage during 2-d design, which basically meant that 4 kids in the class sat in front of the rest of us at the carr haus cafe and held instruments in silent for 4:33 seconds while the rest of us hung out. they did it three times, slightly amazing waste of time. these poor kids who were there having lunch were practically surrounded by us and our performance. they looked confused. jack massey is the cutest little old guy ever. kind of amazing. i realized the one class i can get away with not doing my homework in is 2-d, cuz he doesn't keep track anyway. that's good to know. so class got out at 3 (it's supposed to be at 6) after we started an hour late and had a 20 minute coffee break. i love this.

too bad art history was stuck in the middle. total buzz kill.

so then i came back and tried to get some homework done, which was only slightly successful, and tormented myself with the thought of just how much drawing i have to do this weekend. yumi, maya, and i went to dinner, and then yumi did her nails before we had to go to a "rape talk". it was basically an information session about rape, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and date rape drugs. the statistics are kind of scary, and some of these stories are worse. i just can't imagine that people would do some of these things that they were telling us, and these are people in or around our community, not just random stories. its kind of scary, the things people do cuz they've got sick fucked up fetishes and are horny.

so after this wonderful rape talk thing, i again tried to do some homework. again, only being partially successful. yumi and caroline ran to store24 to get some ingredients for a cookie baking session (more on that later) while wing hung out in here for a bit and we played with some dolls and exchanged summer "stories". totally a mini-girl-session. then, back to english reading

and then something put me in a terrible mood. i'm not exactly at liberty to say exactly who or what they did (even i though i know exactly who and what they did), because i'm pretty sure they read this...even if not regularly, regularly enough. so, i'm just going to bitch and whine to my buddies here for a while, and move on. and if they want to play this childish game i'm pretty damn sure i'll win, so whatever. its just annoying. stupid drama. though not the first time i've had second thoughts...oh, nevermind.

so then yumi and caroline come home midway through the thing that put me in a bad mood, and started to make the cookies. after i was done i went out there to join them, and we had a nearly 3 hours cookie baking/dance session in the kitchen. we had spilled flour all over the floor, so it made for a really nice dance floor. and since we were baking chocolate chip peanut butter chunk cookies, we attracted a lot of attention and it actually became a rather decent sized dance party. we played mostly 90's one-hit wonders. it was pretty amazing. my little iPod speakers are still smoking.

and that put me in a better mood, especially since i complained to caroline and yumi about it and they basically told me that i should be kind of upset, but that i'm in college. so move on. so i did. and now i'm feeling mostly better (its amazing how much dancing and cookies can energize you, even at midnight). this guy quincy here has an amazing fro, and hilarious spice-girl dance moves. it's getting especially hilarious because we're all getting to know each other better. we had a mini 'n-sync dance competition, i think caroline won by a mile. although the ramen noodle guy might disagree.

so yea, that was my amazing long, and mostly good, day. we might hit up a brown party tomorrow night, which are supposed to be just like our risd ones, only with more alchy, less pot, and more people. sounds like a plan. we'll see i guess. i'm off to post pictures onto my risd blog. they're just of stupid concrete poetry things i did, and mainly just for me to keep track. love (most) of you all. xox. and by the way, it rains like crazy here, i needs to find me an umbrella.

p.s. max - i'm expecting a letter from you on fantastic british stationary just like you promised! can't wait for october, we are so going to visit j. it'd make him so happy, i'm sure. hopefully he has room enough for us to crash, hahaha
